Дмитрий ШАГИН  Mitki in Saigon (CD "Mitki's Dances")

Cafe "Saigon", which for last 30 years was St. Petersburg's Mecca for unofficial artists, poets and musicians, hosted a new 'Mitki's' CD presentation. Album is titled "Mitki's dances". As an artistic phenomenon, 'Mitki' is a naive-sarcastic pseudo urban folk informal association of artists. Sometimes they also do musical projects of the same spirit. This is the fourth one captured on CD. Father of the project, Dimitry (Mitya) Shagin - St. Petersburg artist, singer, dancer, narrator, idea generator, Mitki's spiritual Guru, after whom they got their name. The album was recorded in Moscow, and vast majority of the musicians are Muscovites. Shagin told the audience that next album, "Mitki Sailor's Cap" is already in work. It would be compiled of Russian sailor's songs.
