"Во всем виновата Канада!" - утверждали разгневанные родители из мультика
"South Park", поминая недобрым словом Селин Дион (Celine Dion) и Брайана
Адамса (Brian Adams) наряду с прочими канадскими преступлениями против
человечности. Между тем в канадских лесах можно встретить и куда более
достойные образцы местной музыки. Правда, поминальные песни по "Титанику" и
стандартно-гитарная лирика гремят по миру куда громче, но прислушайтесь - ей
богу, оно того стоит.
В конце 80-ых это необходимое действие - прислушивание - совершили многие
критики и радио-диджеи. Они вытащили из пачки новых альбомов пластинку никому
не известного канадского состава Cowboy Junkies и вероятно уже
приготовились ее
выкидывать в мусорную корзину, но бегло просмотрели треклист и обнаружили
несколько знакомых названий: "Sweet Jane", "Blue Moon"... Ради
интереса поставили
на вертушку. Дальнейшее - история. Дальнейшее - бесконечная череда вопросов:
кто это, откуда, как им удалось? Ответы…
